Bidder Complaint Process - Equipment & Supplies
When you file a Bidder Complaint with SCA, the seller will be emailed a copy of the complaint and encouraged to complete the transaction or present justification and appeal the complaint.
NOTE: You MUST file a Bidder Complaint BEFORE filing for a Credit Request.
Be careful when filing a Bidder Complaint. It should only be used as a last resort against a winning bidder who is unresponsive to several attempts at contact. Using this process as a way of intimidating bidders will be cause for suspension.
To have your Bidder Complaint accepted, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must be a registered seller with an SCA User ID and Password.
- You must be the seller of the Equipment & Supplies Item that the complaint is concerning.
- Seven business days must have passed, but no more than thirty, since the auction item closed.
- The auction item must have received at least one winning bid (that has either met or exceeded the reserve price on the item) or Buy Now bid.
- You have made several attempts to contact the winning bidder about the item in question.
If you meet all of these requirements and want to file a Bidder Complaint, please use the Contact Us form and include in the Message box: your SCA User ID, Password the Item number this is regarding and a brief explanation of your attempts to contact the bidder.
After filing the Bidder Complaint, but before sixty days has passed since the auction item closed, and you are unable to resolve the problem, you can submit a Credit Request (see below on this page).
Bidder Complaint Appeal Process
If you are a bidder who has had a Bidder Complaint filed against you, and you feel you have good reason for not going through with a purchase (review User Agreement Terms & Conditions) and that a Bidder Complaint has been filed against you unfairly, you can file a Bidder Complaint Appeal. You should also first review Problems with Users FAQs.
NOTE: Warnings will remain on your record until they are successfully appealed or resolved.
If you want to file a Bidder Complaint Appeal, please use the Contact Us form and include in the Message box: your SCA User ID, Password, the Item number this is regarding and the reason or justification for your appeal.
Credit Request Process - Equipment & Supplies Items
NOTE: Coffee sellers can contact SpecialtyCoffeeAuctions.com, Intellidon Enterprises, directly with any issue related to suspected fraudulent or problem bidders.
To request credit for a transaction that did not go through, you must meet the following requirements:
- You have already filed a Bidder Complaint.
- Ten days have passed since you filed the Bidder Complaint with SCA and your attempts to contact the bidder have been unsuccessful.
- It has been less than sixty days since the auction item closed.
- You can request credit for the Listing Fees, Optional Fees and Final Value Fees for an Equipment & Supplies category item listing and only Optional Fees for Green Coffee category items.
Once you submit this Credit Request, the high bidder will receive an email from SCA and may receive a warning, which could result in their suspension from using this website for buying or selling.
If you meet all of these requirements and want to continue and file a Credit Request, please use the Contact Us form and include in the Message box: your SCA User ID, Password, the auction Item number this is regarding and a statement regarding your continued attempts to resolve the transaction.
